Joburg is Going Green: Get Your Municipal Statement Online

Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Finance in the City of Johannesburg, Cllr Funzela Ngobeni, would like to invite and encourage all municipal account holders to register and receive their municipal statements electronically.


It is easy and convenient to receive your municipal bill via email compared to post. In this day of a paperless and environmentally friendly society, the City is determined to provide easy and accessible services to our people.


“Choosing to receive your statement via email is smart, safe and convenient, you will have your bill at your fingertips in no time,” says MMC Ngobeni.


MMC Ngobeni further stated that, “This would reduce the amount of money spent that is used to print and post municipal statements, money that could be spent to create better infrastructure, and provide essential and necessary services”.


There are many benefits to customers who are receiving their municipal statements via email.  Some of these benefits to receive statements electronically are:


  • Customers will receive their statements almost immediately;
  • Customers will receive their statements 2-3 days after it’s been produced, which means customers receive their statements well before the payment due date;
  • Customers are able to view up to 12 months of backdated statements;
  • Customers can view their statements and manage their accounts from anywhere in the world; and
  • Customers won’t experience the inconvenience of unreliable postage services.


Choose to receive your statement via email by registering on the City’s website, www.joburg.org.za, today.


How to navigate the use of E-services:


Enter the URL of e-Services in your browser:  https://eservices.joburg.org.za/


Select the Login button and a drop down will appear – Select the Register button




Complete the Registration Form


You will receive a message that your registration was successful.  A confirmation email will be send to you.  Click the link to activate your registration.




(1)    You receive a message that the username was already taken by another user?  - Choose a new username

(2)    You receive a message that an error occurred?

This could mean that you are already registered.  Select the Log a Website Query link and lock your query. 


(3)    Your old username and password does not work

Please select the Forgot Password link and reset your password or Select the Log a Website Query link and lock your query.
